I'm on the edge of writing up some Narnia meta, but then I realized that I was taking my cues entirely from the movie when the canon's print-based rather than written, and I have no idea if I was seeing things in the movie that weren't in the book. Then I got confused about whether I could write up meta about the movie for what is a print-based canon. Then I realized I should probably see the movie again, the first movie again, and reread the books. Then I thought I should check out the BBC miniseries from the library (dude, I used to love those) and watch those, just to see if I was pulling stuff out of thin air or if it was actually there.

Brought to you by the discussion I had with my friend Rissa today about movie adaptations of novels, novelizations and tie-ins of movies and tv series, and the differences of presenation in various media, as well as the perception of individual readers/viewers when those readers/viewers become the ones calling the shots, or the ones adapting books or comic books for the screen in the form of movies television series. I have no idea if she was interested, but I definitely was. Which was good, since I was the one talking about it.

Anyway, I need to think about this some more, and I definitely need to see Prince Caspian again. I actually have two sets of meta here, one on Narnia, Peter the High King, and Aslan's plan, and one on reader/viewer perception and adaptations, novelizations, and fanfic.

School is ending! I can think coherently again! Don't worry, this will probably end in August!
