oh, christ, don't talk about research, I still haven't done my norman/plantagenet era law research for at least one chapter. maybe I can do it while lj is down this evening...
mind you, I did do a quick bit of creatures research - apparently in the greek era, satyrs and fauns were completely different - Satyrs were middle-aged, perpetually horny and had human feet, fauns had goats feet and less of a sex drive) it's only the romans who started confusing the issue. So weta were *right* in making them different, even if they made satyrs completely different to the greek definition.
still trying to figure out where the 'so, er, we've heard rumours your brother's into bestiality' conversation should go. corner of court? (ie, relatively public) or in private? Er....
