okay, *now* back to theocritus

Susan is...kind of scary. FOR A WOMAN WHO'S IN CHAINS.

And she's the only one of the Pevensies that's perfectly willing to use the whole demigod thing to her advantage. She could at least pretend to be bothered by it, but no. She has to fuck with people's heads.

And let's not even get into how cynical she is. But of course; she's Susan. And they're all cynical, but she so matter-of-fact about it. She's not as bitter as some of the others.

And Susan excels at it. Hell, she managed to get her siblings to hate her for six years, she had damn well be able to convince the Calormenes that she's a highly amused goddess.

That makes it sound like she was intentionally getting the others to hate her. Is that what was going on?

I am SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS!

I am actually not all that sure. To a greater or lesser extent, I think so, but how much of it was deliberate originally -- it was building up for a long time, but it came to a head the time Peter crashed test-flying planes and that was basically the incident that set Susan off. And she knows exactly where to hit her siblings where it hurts. (Peter got off lucky; he was so drugged up he didn't really know what was going on at the time.)
