McKinley! I love her so much -- my favorite of her books is Spindle's End, then Rose Daughter. Sunshine is also very good, and is the only vampire book I can stand. Also the MC is a baker. The Blue Sword is a classic of YA fantasy, but definitely not domestic fantasy. In Chalice the MC is a beekeeper.
