That sounds like fun to figure out, and also difficult.
Personally I find original characters hard to come up with and write, although I've been told I do them well. Although, bizarrely enough, I totally have The Mayor down (he's the mayor of Cleveland from the civil war, 20+ years before any scene that will probably ever be written...somehow I don't think knowing his personality is going to help anything).
I always admire how you make it all a real world, that keeps going on even when and where the metaphorical camera isn't. *jealous*
