I feel there's, mmm, a bit of pressure to have more female characters. Although it is interesting with minor characters, because the default's usually male and I end up stopping myself to go, "Wait, is this necessary? Could they be female? Will that change the story? Will it be helpful?" (The last few OCs in Dust -- Marcia and Sullycloud were both originally going to be male, and then I thought better of it.)
