Hi, I'm realizing in my friending-frenzy off Tumblr that I have no idea who anyone is anymore, even if their handles are the same, because there's no context, so I'm just going to jump in and start commenting on things, please forgive me if you don't know who I am and find this alarming; I may well have just been a lurker of yours on Tumblr. So, hi, I was bomberqueen17 but you may not even know who I was there either.
But I wanted to comment largely that I also do an approximately-annual reread of the Raksura books and wanted to high-five you over that. They're so good! This past year I turbocharged it, though, and started reading it aloud to my 4-year-old niece when she was pestering me about my ereader. It turns out you don't have to censor much if the kiddo you're reading to has a pretty good handle on death (she's a farm kid, so I just elide the gore and ellipsis the sex and the rest is A-OK with some pauses for discussion here and there) and it's been good for her, I think, to have a grown-up book read to her. I can't believe she's got the concentration for it, but she has. And it's great because I hate kids' books and reading them, so. Win-win, only I'm not sure if I'm going to get in over my head at some point. (We just finished Serpent Sea, so we've been at this a while.)
