And I am back in New Orleans! Where it is currently sixty-three degrees, which a week ago I would have found absolutely freezing cold but which is a good twenty degrees warmer than back in Washington! That's the good thing about spring break; it allows you to remember why you chose to go to a university two thousand miles away from home: because it is warm and sunny more than two days out of the year. (I am exaggerating. Slightly.)

My idea was that Peter was dreaming about the Dying Times, when the invading armies burned the forests rather than march through them and die horrible deaths -- the Calormenes never burned the forests, either in canon or in Dust; they used them for lumber.
