Yeah. Yeah, I now appear to be writing Golden Age Narnian poetry about the end of the Long Winter and the beginning of the Great Summer.

...I'm not that great with poetry, by the way, but perhaps we can just pretend it's been translated several times over by the time the Telmarines get to it?

Haha. You are so awesome. XD

Poetry's fun! Do you like reading it?

Some poetry -- T.S. Eliot, Rudyard Kipling, some others. I don't read a lot of poetry, though.

Ever had a go at G. K. Chesterton? I posted <a href="http://be-themoon.livejournal.com/24369.html>not so long ago</a> about him and which of his are my favorites. But yeah, I'm looking forward to reading more Ancient Narnian songs and comments. Heh.

It would help if I could make myself write my goddamned paper so I can actually do something else.

Will check out Chesterton as soon as the paper is done, and then there will be fic! And Telmarine analysis! And poetry!

Awesome.

Because it has been a while since we've had any ancient Narnian lit! Ancient Narnian, mind, not all the Telmarine stuff we get in Dust.

...I have a very odd Narnia kink, apparently? But it's fun.

The translation thing is my usual excuse as well for the quality of in-world poetry.

I do find, though, that if you can wedge it into some existing form - or even invent your own - it seems to work better. I've had good luck with sonnets, but my attempt at an Epic Poem has been buried under a crossroads.

Well, I'm doing it in the style of a Theocritan idyll (http://books.google.com/books?id=VcOWD_-wGj4C&dq=theocritus+idylls&printsec=frontcover&source=bl&ots=LseQ6zVtDx&sig=7u9fEVae_qEmikLbi7fefOZHq-0&hl=en&ei=YSTaSZTPNqaYlAeNrYDGDA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=6#PPP1,M1), because I'm, uh, supposed to be writing a paper right now on that very subject, and I had a moment of, "Hey, I bet the fauns write poetry and it sounds a lot like a Theocritan idyll! Because it's...pastoral?" So there's that.

( @:^* With a disinterested expression) Bardy, you could add the ballads I sent to you...
(Breaks down) ...I would be honoured.

P.S. And, by the way, I am sure that if you decide to become a writer, you would be a VERY GOOD (read GREAT) writer. In fact I hope you so decide; and I would read and buy your books. You can tell my opinion to your mother, and add that I am older than she is, (mumbles) so I know better.

I am planning to! As soon as I finish the paper I'm, um...supposed to be writing. And clean up the poetry. And add commentary.

And thank you for the compliment; I am, in fact, planning on becoming a writer, it's just that I have to do something else in the meantime.
