stitch markers!

This is what I have spent all day doing:

stitch markers

Lots of Zuni bears -- I can't remember all the stones, but the green ones at the bottom are turquoise, topped with what might be jade or adventurine. Above that, the hearts, is hematite (or possibly hemalyke, but I'm pretty sure it's hematite). I'm afraid I can't remember what the top two Zuni bears are, or the pearly stone that's centered below the garnet. (The garnet I remember.) The second Zuni bear is probably rose quartz, as is the Zuni bear stitch marker in the right corner, on the knitting. To the right is amethyst, above the lone garnet-and-mystery stone stitch marker. There are a few you can't see beneath the roll of stockinette, but those are either ones that are pictured below or ones that I can't make sets for. The majority of them are on sterling silver headpins. A few are on some other kind of metal that came with a different set (and those were a bitch to work with, omg, I love sterling silver so much).

There are six marker sets for the top two Zuni bears and the hematite hearts, and five marker sets for the turquoise Zuni bears and the amethyst. I am very thoughtfully considering selling them on Etsy, since a girl has to pay for her yarn habit somehow.

That was fun. I haven't done any jewelry-making in far too long; I put on Life After People as background noise and lost several important hours of my life. Life After People has me thinking of post-Golden Age Narnia, by the way. I am thoughtfully considering Things.

ETA: Life After People, not Life Without People; I was conflating Life After People and The World Without Us for some reason.

As an afterthought, I can also put everything that's on a stitch marker on a pair of earrings or a pendant, which is how I learned to make jewelry in the first place.

Hey, if you do sell them, put up a link. I know someone who would love a set.

Those are absolutely gorgeous! I would totally go for the amethyst and the garnet. Totally. Do you take Postal Money Orders? ;-)

Postal Money orders are just like regular money orders, just from the US Postal Service. They cost $1.10 per money order up to $500, and $1.50 up to $1000. They are completely backed by the Postal Service and as long as you have your filled out receipt, they will completely refund your money. Totally.

Basically, it's a check from me through the Post Office that can't bounce. It's so cool.
