trailer commentary

The Last Legion. I just...I don't even know what this is, seriously. Is it about King Arthur? Is it not about King Arthur? What does the title have to do with the storyline? If the kid is a Roman, why is he in Britain? I don't even know, man. Oh, yeah, and of course the weaponsmaster is a chick.

Enchanted. Dude, if you're starting out talking about classic Disney, start out with something other than Toy Story and Tarzan. Think classic Disney movies. Other than that, I have no comment, although the movie looks relatively amusing, in the sense that yeah, none of the Disney heroes and heroines would survive long in New York City. Hmm. Maybe Aladdin and Jasmine, they're pretty hardcore as far as such things go.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Can't say anything about historical accuracy, but it looks shiny, and fairly decent. Also, Cate Blanchett is awesome, so.

Resurrecting the Champ. Hmm. No real impressions.

The Spiderwick Chronicles. This is based on a book, yes? It looks fairly interesting, although it also looks like Jumanji but with magical creatures. Also, classic urban fantasy. Or, uh, rural fantasy, apparently.

Sleuth. *head to side* Huh. Okay. Uh. Jude Law!

I won't even BEGIN to talk about the ways The Last Legion is utter historical bunk ....

and an empire that once stood for truth and honor...

WTF?! moment for the day.

Uh, yeah. I thought the Roman Empire was still, like, the epitome of moral decay and decadence, which has nothing to do with truth and honor if I know my synonyms and, uh, I do.

Re: the Last Legion, I think it's about who owns Excalabur before Arthur gets it... either his father or someone else in Roman-owned Britain.

I want to see the new Elizabeth movie. Omg Clive. And Cate. And SO DARN PRETTY.

The Spiderwick books are pretty enjoyable, so I'm looking forward to the movie (and glee, that cute kid who I never remember the name of!!)

If they're paying any attention to the myth at all, Uther never had Excalibur. God, that trailer confuses me so much. This is why I've more or less given up on King Arthur stories, because I have my set opinion on what happened and that's that.

Queen Elizabeth is awesome, seriously.

Ha, I thought the movie was based off a book. Never did read 'em, though.
