bedlamsbardI've said this before, but it bears repeating: every time I go back to the Narnia character playlists I made in 2008 and 2009, they are made up of what I swear to god is the most depressing music ever. Mostly country "my baby done left me" music. Even when it's cheerful it's depressing!
This is before I got really into peppy pop songs as character themes, by the way. I actually have separate playlists for those, though I don't have as many songs on those because I don't actually listen to much peppy pop. (You and I both know that Peter is a put on a show kind of girl. Just like Jim Kirk.)
The period when I was really into making playlists, though, was that period of really depressing country music. Which is why my Susan playlist is too depressing to actually listen to. It's called "Never Die Young." *twitches* Interestingly, I made that when I was still having trouble getting a handle on Susan and I'm not sure if it still matches up with my Susan. Maybe not. It pre-dates Dust, and I know writing Dust had a pretty major affect on my post-PC/VotDT characterization.
...hmm, I'm listening to it now, and the reason I don't listen to any of these songs anymore, even because I used to really like some of them, is because they're now way too intriciately entwined with that playlist/concept. AND IT'S DEPRESSING, OKAY. I spent a year or two wallowing in the tragedy of Narnia, and I think I'm off that now. (Actually...because of Dust, I think, as well as the Junior Pevensie 'verse. This is mostly because I no longer think of LB as The End Of All Things Except Susan. Which is not to say that Dust is going to end essentially differently than LB, but not that it's not, either.)

I must be getting past my depressed streak, I'm babbling about Narnia again. Here, have a (non-Narnia) link of AWW: Capt. Kirk (Shatner) arm wrestled Capt. Kirk (Pine). (I just rewatched Star Trek (2009) the other day, it's on my mind.)
Huh. My Pevensies aren't as angry as they were back in the day.
