Feb. 27th, 2007 08:17 pm*stares blankly* That's it. I really have no sense of self-preservation when it comes to my grades. I mean, I have to cajole myself into doing my calc homework, I have to debate in English -- AP English -- Thursday and I have no prep done, and we're all pretty sure the AP History work is due between Thursday and Friday, and am I done yet?

Oct. 15th, 2006 04:12 pmI never, ever want to see The Grapes of Wrath again. Nor do I ever want to hear "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" again. Alas, my essay sucks and I will have to rewrite it, so I have at least another three hours of torture before I turn in my final copy on Friday.
Also, if anyone out there knows any good articles on the relationship between Grapes and the Battle Hymn, I'd like to know. I have to get someone to drive me down to the University library sometime before Friday; I went to the public library yesterday, which didn't really have anything I needed except for Steinbeck: A Life in Letters, but I kind of need two "scholarly sources."
It sucks trying to write about The Grapes of Wrath, because it's such a Christian novel. Not being Christian, I have no idea what to write about. (Thus the relationship between the Battle Hymn and the book. Unfortunately, hymn. And there aren't enough mythology parallels that I can write about that.)
I have one more book of Paradise Lost to go, then I have to write my responses to the book. *looks at questions* "What symbols or motifs did you notice in the story? How are these elements operating?" Christianity is totally fucked up, man. *nods*
I have to write a 10-15 page paper on this. *sigh* Fortunately, later.
