JKR talks about what happens after the DH epilogue.

*flails* Like hell McGonagall was getting on in years! Dumbledore was what, a hundred and fifty, and McGonagall was only in her seventies during the course of the books! Twenty years later she is not too fucking old to be Headmistress!

Oh, and of course Harry and Ron are Aurors and Harry's the head of the Auror Department. Not Hermione, though, Hermione's in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement as a lawyer. *rolls eyes*

ARGH. *beats head into desk* Fandom! Fandom, I love you, don't leave me, I'm going to happy pre-DH denial land now, thanks very much. And maybe I'll write one of my essays on my inability to trust the PTB with their own creations; I've been considering it.

Oh how I hear you, there are just somethings that should be left alone. Though I have to admit, I would/will buy the Harry Potter encyclopedia if she writes it.

We're talking the HP fandom here; we'd buy the dictionary if she wrote it, and we're not even talking a Harry Potter dictionary, we're talking a regular dictionary. The epilogue was bad enough, but I'm going to my happy SW-denial place where everything that doesn't explicitly happen in the books (or in SW's case, the movies) is unnecessary and can be taken or left no matter what the creator says.

*cocks head to side* Is it because fandom is objective and JKR is subjective? We're not going in -- originally, I mean, now is obviously different -- with a set of preconceptions in mind, the way she, as the author, is; we're going in with open minds willing to put our trust in anything that looks vaguely snary at us. Huh. Must consider this.
