I suppose the survivor's guilt has potential... provided the writers have her doing something other than sobbing and wailing "Why was I the only one?" The way her traumatic secret was revealed was a little too heavy-handed for my taste - too much telling, not enough showing.
What really drives me mad is that I can't say what I think would have worked better. Lindsay is still such a nebulous character, and trying to figure her out within the parameters of canon tends to frustrate me to the point where I'd rather start her backstory from scratch.
This is probably going to end with me writing fic. *headdesk*
(I'm mostly joking about a Danny/Peyton affair. I found a few fantastically dysfunctional, twisted stories exploring the pairing, and they were rather satisfying to read, but I don't think I'd actually want to see it played out on the show.)
