Lovely. My Theatre Arts prof assigned a hundred and nine pages of reading for Monday -- and I didn't bring the textbook with me, because when I packed my textbooks, I only packed the ones I'd need for Thursday's classes, since we were supposed to return on Wednesday. (Obviously, the mandatory city evacuation changed this.) I don't have my Japanese workbook either, just the textbook, but I don't have Japanese till Tuesday.

*sigh* Well, we know how I'll be spending Sunday evening when I get back.

Other things I didn't bring when I evacuated: my large eye yarn needles. I can buy those here, of course, and I probably will, but I just finished a washcloth and I can't sew up the seam...

On the other hand, I think one of the major problems with "Old Timber" is that I tried to fit too much into too small of a space, so events are going to have to spread out. I think I'm going to have to print this one out, too, while I'm at home and have access to a printer.

So, for everyone that read Missing Strings and went, "But where is the rest?!", I'm not kidding about this story having the misfortune to be written at the worst time ever. It starts out with my pet HP AU, where James survives instead of Harry, and if I did write it, it would be my Big Damn HP Epic, starring AU characters from up and down the HP 'verse, including the above James, this Oliver Wood, a Tom Riddle who became an Unspeakable and did not go evil, a Cedric Diggory (I hadn't figured out the AU yet, but he was alive), canon Sirius (canon here being GoF), and some other characters. It would be my James/Sirius epic (first OTP. I am not kidding about favoring doomed love affairs, y'all).

When I started plotting this, it happened to be approximately two days before I saw PC. That should tell you everything you need to know right there. (And I love AUs, too. This was the prompt made for me. At the moment, I was between fandoms. Yeah, that went well.)

...and then I wrote Peter Pevensie/Bruce Wayne.

Some days I just don't know, man.
