bedlamsbard: natasha romanoff from the black widow prelude comic (sunshine on a cloudy day (earth_mage))
My new Noro Kureyon is so pretty, I don't want to write, I just want to knit and watch it be pretty. Which is sort of a problem when I should be either, a, doing my reading for class (SO MUCH READING) or, b, working on Dust. Or, c, doing pre-writing for my papers. (Although they're not that long, only around a thousand words each. (One's on the Odyssey, the other is on Theocritus's Idylls.)

Just got back from visiting the levees and the levee breaches with my Natural Disasters prof and four other people from the class. I was going to say something about what a nice day it is -- it's beautiful out, and the first Mardi Gras parade, Krewe de Vieux, is tonight too, although I probably won't be going -- but then the headline on Yahoo is "150 Stranded On Lake Erie" about an 8-mile-wide slab of ice breaking off...which just kind of makes me feel bad about it being 73F in New Orleans. Because New Orleans is a city that's kind of on crack, just as a general rule.

Okay, I'm going to be virtuous and read some Shakespeare.
