Oh, yeah, school's gearing up to go again; I had six e-mails in my Tulane inbox this morning and only one of them was the daily New Wave. *cracks knuckles* I'm flying back next week, moving in four days early so that I can help with the official move-in, as are three of my four suitemates. BACK TO THE SALT MINES.
I am slowly and painfully coming to the conclusion that sophomore year is the one where college fucks you over, because they baby you for freshman year -- or first semester freshman year, anyway -- and then sophomore year you expect them to do the same thing, and they don't, and then you do things like miss deadlines for financial aid and pre-ordering microfridges. *hisses* Did I mention that the price of everything went up? And my financial aid went down? DIE TULANE. At this point I'm wondering if it would actually be cheaper to go do a year or a semester abroad or at some other university's semester-long program.
Also, speaking of study abroad, at the beginning of the summer I was all, "I want to go study abroad in Australia for a semester!" and now, at the end of the summer, my prevailing mood is something along the lines of, "I want to go study abroad in the U.K. for a semester!" (Before y'all go, "Seriously, Bed, the point of doing study abroad is to learn another language, what's with the English-speaking nations?" my first choice study-abroad program is actually this one, but I have severe doubts about my ability to actually get accepted for it. Also, I would like to go somewhere where they speak English; I like English, and the only other language I speak (REALLY BADLY) is Japanese, and I've been to Japan. MANY TIMES. Also, my majors (at the moment) are English and (European to some extent) history and my minor is classical studies.)
...I remember that I was going to say something that didn't have to do with college, but I don't remember what it was. OH WELL.
