I think I am, like, weirdly old-school or something, because I'm looking at mixing bowls (with the vague idea that if I get a mixing bowl, a cutting board, and a cookie sheet, then I may do some actual baking -- I have a muffin tin and baking supplies, but nothing else) and I just cannot seriously countenance the idea of using something other than a metal bowl, because that's what I always used growing up. All the other ones seem sort of weirdly frivolous, even though I know they're not.

Obviously, metal bowls are expensive and not sold in stores. (I'm looking at Target website right now.) *sighs dramatically*

Oh! I could ask my mother to mail me my tiny cow-shaped wooden cutting board! Although that is less than practical for rolling out cookie dough, because of the tininess.

...wow, I just had the weirdest urge to write Narnia. Not accompanied by, like, inspiration or anything, just, "Write! Narnia!"

The reason it was so weird is because it wasn't like I stopped and saw adorable screencaps or pics or something; I am sitting here writing original fic with aella_irene, eating my last Fuji apple, occasionally looking at JSTOR for sources for my short paper on religious symbolism in the Arab-Israeli conflict, and for some reason this yarn absolutely screams London 1940. Which makes me think of Narnia.

Hell, maybe I should buy it just because of that.

Tell me that the colorway there screams the opening scenes of LWW. Please. It will make me feel better.
