today, a book fell on my head
Jan. 23rd, 2010 11:51 pmHate the world. Kind of getting the feeling that my roommate hates me and does not, in any way shape or form, want to live with me next year. Am irritated at roommate and suitemate telling me that I cannot have a crisis when damned if it didn't feel like that to me, even if it is not the traditional definition. Worried about housing next year. Worried about getting my lower-tier public service done (missed the Gulf Restoration Network's training program today; guys, I cannot deal with people who can't get basic facts right. LIKE THE DATE ON THE FLYER); in theory there are two other organizations we can do public service with. Have a midterm on Tuesday which consists of one essay question on Alfred the Great; am freaking out. Bruff's dinner selections completely sucked tonight. Hate hate hate the scarf I am trying to knit right now. Mom's birthday is tomorrow; have not yet purchased anything; thus, scarf of HATE (if I rip out one more time, something will die). Computer freezes at irregular intervals; I am completely terrified of doing schoolwork on this computer. Really, really, really, reallyreallyreally want to bake. Could not make a single good cup of tea today. I made six. FAIL.
In summation:
What the hell is wrong with my computer? (Dell Inspiron 1525, new as of July/August 2008, freezing intermittently; also, what if something is up with the fan?)
Where the hell am I going to live next year if the people I am living with now don't want to live with me?
Where in walking distance and/or streetcar distance of Tulane can I buy a mixing bowl and a cookie sheet?
and
Dear used bookshops of New Orleans (especially you, Maple Street Bookshop), please buy my used books. Love, Bedlam
Also, I found that Howard-Tilton Library had I'm Just Here for More Food, so it is now sitting on my bed, despite the aforementioned "unable to bake" thing. Also checked out (for kicks, not school): The Ruin of the Roman Empire and Redcoat: The British Soldier in the Age of Horse and Musket. Last book read for fun: Cod: A Biography of the Fish that Changed the World. Currently on the needles: Orca Tails (Noro Kureyon, size 10s, scarf of hate) and Sunday Swing Socks (Black Trillium Roman Blue Sock, Pacific Rim, size 1 DPNs, have not worked on in SO LONG).
