okay, coherency now
Jun. 7th, 2010 01:59 pmSign-ups for
narniaexchange are open! Since for some mysterious reason my Narnia writing mojo is back, I am excited like whoa. (Although I keep having my usual reaction of, "I don't care about getting fic, I just like writing it," but getting fic is nice too.) Y'all should go sign up!

If anyone happened to be checking their flists/rcircles yesterday at the time of the Amazing Appearing Disappearing Reappearing Dust 19, I am so sorry. I was having technical cross-posting issues, which mostly involve my inability to uncheck the crossposting button post-initial posting, which is why, after about the fourth or fifth time the entire chapter showed up on LJ, I decided it could just friggin' remain on LJ; I know a sign of the gods when I see one. (Now, why the gods and/or the universe give a damn about which website I post my fic to, I don't know, but apparently I am more religious than I thought.)
*
Let me take a moment to whine, "I want yarn." I just wound my last skein -- well, second to last skein, but one skein of Lorna's Laces isn't enough for a pair of socks -- and cast on for another pair of Sunday Swing Socks, and it pains me. I think I may just go ahead and buy more yarn, even though I probably shouldn't. (Actually, as a side note, have any of the knitters or crocheters among you used KnitPicks yarn? There's a sale, and I'm kind of curious, especially since it's pretty cheap.)

No, seriously, I am really confused about why my Narnia writing mojo has come back now, of all times. I even opened up the Peter/James Bond fic last night to eye it thoughtfully, then come to the sad conclusion that I still have no idea what's happening, and also that I need to watch Casino Royale and...the other Craig bond movie, it has the word quantum in it, or possibly jewel -- look, I am not a Bond girl, yes? Then I started working on "Till Human Voices Wake Us", which is one of the first Narnia fics I ever started, and one of my oldest WIPs. If you are on Twitter, you see my nightly, dreamy, "I love Narnia. I love writing," tweets.
Am still considering whether I feel okay with having Dust chapters from OC POVs. (Not counting the interludes.)
*
Watched The Cave last night, which was utterly predictable aside from the fact that Top lived. Did not expect that whatsoever; they usually kill off everyone but The Hero and The Love Interest! Did win points for having Lena Headey and Daniel Dae Kim, who I recognized and went, "Jin! It's Jin! He's...American? Why does Sarah Connor have an British accent?"
Actor dislocation can be very odd at times.
Apparently we're getting The Descent from Netflix today, so these two movies on top of Voices is sort of like the PSA for, "Don't go spelunking, things wille at you."

New DW code change allows you to click the little arrow next to cut tags and have it roll down/open without opening a new page. Am not really sure how I feel about this one, as so far today it's mostly been irritating me. Conservation of motion and data and all that, I don't know. But that mostly means I should stop clicking the little arrow and go back to clicking cut tags.
*
Am two books from the end of the Sharpe series! Only I don't have Waterloo and neither does the library. *sighs* (Seriously, they have everything besides the last five books or so. I mean, it's an improvement on the fact they have the second two books in the Starbuck trilogy and not the first, but come on.)
