If I had a dollar for every time I was working on a draft of a new chapter for Dust, my textbooks would be a hell of a lot cheaper. Which goes to say that I am working on Dust 21, again, different POV than the last draft had (Lucy to Edmund, which was preceded by Peter, and which I believe was preceded by Tirian). I think I have more than I did the last time! Including a fight scene, which is always a good sign for me.
Lucy's interesting; I haven't written her in a very long time, and my characterization has changed dramatically since I started writing Dust. (So have my themes, less drastically, and a bit of the main plot, but I don't think those are as obvious. Suffice it to say that I and the Pevensies are not as angry and frustrated as we were after PC first came out; I've had a lot more time to build up a complex mythology, and start trying to work through how I feel about Lewis's 'verse taken as a whole.)
One of these days I will actually be able to remember what the four festivals are off the top of my head. For reference: Winter's End (falls in early spring, is also the New Year), Heart of Summer (falls in summer), Long Dusk (falls in autumn, connected to the harvest and the slaughter), and Promise of Hope (falls in winter; I think it's at the winter solstice). And, gods willing, one of these days we may actually be able to see fucking Winter's End oh my god each draft pushes the celebration off further.
Anyway. *cough* I am writing Dust 21 (again) and I still have not seen VotDT. No, really. I know. It's sad. I should turn in my Fan Badge. Oh, well, at least I've mostly missed the wank (except for the post yesterday that turned up on my dwircle that pretty much stated that the OP wished Narnia fandom didn't exist. Whoo, surprise!), though part of that may be because I really don't interact with the fandom outside of my own journal.
