I am tentatively experimenting with the AO3, several years after the rest of fandom; you can find me at [archiveofourown.org profile] bedlamsbard. Right now just the BSG fic is up while I ponder my next move. I will probably put some but not all of my Narnia fic up; Dust will almost certainly not be among them, since it's an active WIP. (And yeah, I'm planning on going back and changing some stuff in Dust I at some point in the future.)

(Dude, I have been in fandom nearly ten years -- I got into it in either late 2001 or early 2002, all I remember was that it was sixth grade -- and this is the first time I've ever had my fic on an archive. So yeah, kind of a big deal.)

Still rewatching BSG, but I'm finally coming up on the bit I haven't seen -- the back half (well, back three-quarters, really) of S4, so I'll probably go back to doing episode reactions then. (My notes from the first time I went through: surprisingly helpful, even though they tend to be things like "HELO AND SHARON AND HERA" and "ADAMA" and "STARBUCK OMG" and "FIGHTING AGATHONS <3333.")

Ugh, I need to reset my internal schedule, because the past two weeks have been hell on me (mostly through my own faults) and it's messing with me. Like, sleep! How lovely a thing that would be. (Okay, part of this comes from me starting to write fic again; it's been a couple years since that frenzied MUST WRITE NOW NOW NOW thing was in high gear.) Also, honors thesis and grad apps, I should do those, plus my normal homework. I'm still keeping track of what I'm reading at any given point in time, and you can really tell when my attention span is fractured by the days and numbers and authors.

Also, food. I need to get back on that. I swear to gods I bought ice cream a couple days ago, but when I went to get some it wasn't in the freezer, so maybe I didn't buy it? Or maybe I ate all of it? Or maybe one of my roommates ate it by mistake? Yeah, I don't know. And then I thought my bacon had mysteriously vanished, but it turned out to have just fallen down between the crisper and the back of the fridge, so now I'm like, "Hmm, can I still eat this or has it been open too long?"

(Also related to food: I keep not eating enough, which means I'm sitting there trying to write a paper the night before it's due willing my hands to stop shaking because I don't feel hungry, but I clearly haven't eaten enough protein or something. HI. I HAVE THE SELF-PRESERVATION INSTINCTS OF SOMETHING WITHOUT VERY GOOD SELF-PRESERVATION INSTINCTS.)

I really need to start working on my thesis, since my first chapter is due in a month.

If I had a plot (and I have the hint of one at the back of my brain, but just, no, okay?), I would totally write the AU where the Galactica and the Fleet through the weirdness of plot devices end up back in Colonial space during Caprica (the show). TIME TRAVEL. And then you could have even more Adama trauma drama. Three generations of it! Wouldn't you like to see Lee's face when he finds out that good ole granddaddy Joseph Adama was actually a mob lawyer? Anyway. I shall not be writing that AU.

Holy crap, how is almost November already? (Halloween: not really my favorite holiday, but I don't have feelings about it one way or another. Well. My dog died the day after Halloween one year; we think it was because she was tied up all day on Halloween so when we finally untied her she took off into the road and got hit by a car, because none of my dogs had good self-preservation instincts. See also: ran away several times and finally never came back (once ended up in a tattoo parlor downtown, once ended up on the other side of the mountains, wtf), eaten by coyotes. This is three different dogs, mind. Now we have cats.)

I'm currently reading George MacDonald Fraser's The Steel Bonnets...slowly, because see again what I said earlier about my fractured attention span, since I've been running late because I haven't been getting enough sleep and my usual place to read is in the dining hall.

Like I said. My attention span currently resembles a disaster zone.
