BSG: the back end of S4, including the finale and my Big Slightly Tainted Review

Note to self: possibly do not engage with this fandom ever outside of writing fic. I think I just worked out that that's going to be a bad idea.

These are my notes from 4.11 to the finale, including the review written this morning while I should have been studying. Whoops.

No, seriously. I was legit convinced for a while that the Big Twist Ending was going to be "It was all a dream!" That is how unspoiled I was. (Actually, I remembered some of my spoilers wrong, so there's that. Pleasant surprises.)

ETA: Is it less depressing if I choose to believe that they evolved into the Ancients from Stargate instead? Does the timeline match up? Does it matter?

Have had excellent idea for plotty BSG fic that goes AU in "The Hub," where Helo is captured and held prisoner by the Cylons because he's the father of the only human-Cylon child out there and maybe there's something special about him -- the Sixes and the Eights talked about the trick being love, but Cavill would never buy into something as unquantifiable as love being the key. It can't be something in the Eights; they're all the same. So maybe it's something to do with this human. He can't get the daughter or the mother, not now, but when the father just falls into his lap like that...

Meanwhile, back in the Fleet, there are the other post-Hub shenanigans with the Final Four and D'Anna, because now she's demanding that Athena and Hera come back to the baseship with them too. After all, her husband's dead: why else would she want to stay with the humans? She should come back to her own.

And then there's Boomer, who might not have abandoned humanity as much as she thinks she has.

Huh. Maybe I will write that. (Wow, I love how I got really into writing BSG just as I signed up for the Narnia Big Bang. Traditionally I've been fandom monogamous, so we'll see how this fandom polygamy goes. Also, I've never OTPed so hard on a pairing in my life.)
