(no subject)

SO FAR TODAY IS BALLS AND NOT IN A GOOD WAY.

IE updated without my say-so; I still had it on 8 because I've seen 9 and knew that I wasn't going to like it, and now it's on 9 and agh agh agh, why is everything aligned right (except for the things that used to be and are now aligned left!) and why don't the tabs have their own toolbar or whatever it's called and agh. I've been experimenting with Chrome, but one of my problems with Chrome is the same as my problem with Firefox: BUT MY KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS. *shakes fist* Damn you, IE! I had you just the way I liked you!

So last week the cover fell off the overhead light in my room, which, balls, but whatever, I servicewaved it and today while I was in class they came and fixed it! Except for how now the light doesn't work. Have I mentioned I have no other light in my room? YEAH. I'm not sure if they finished or what because they didn't leave a note, but if I am scarce today, it's because I can't be in my room as I have NO LIGHT.

Also I am getting the plague.

In case anyone is keeping track: I emergency ServiceWaved the light and a guy came! Then he said he had to get an electrician! Then I went to dinner and also to Walmart (finally, after half a year, I have a jar of yeast!) and two hours later...I still have no light. So I am camped out in the common area, but the light's not too great in here either, but at least there is light. There had better be an electrician here tomorrow morning, is all I'm saying.

My annoyance, it is intense. I'm pretty sure I've ServiceWaved stuff more times this semester than I have the past three and a half years put together.

As I said to dogstar: it's almost funny how sketch this scenario, which is pretty standard for Anakin/Obi-Wan fics (Anakin cornering Obi-Wan/pinning him against a wall/generally being aggressive), gets when it's a (taller, stronger, younger) man and a (smaller, older, wounded (though that's not as relevant)) woman instead of two men. Like, I can think of four or five fics off the top of my head that use that exact same scenario that only differ in the details. Because Anakin Skywalker, aggressive bastard, that's why. (Though: aggressive bastard who knows how and when to back off when told, thank you, AotC.)

It's also almost funny how anxious I get about having Obi-Wan get rescued/need rescuing when Obi-Wan's a she instead of a he, despite the fact that canon, oh my god. (Not that Obi-Wan is going to get rescued: Obi-Wan is perfectly capable of rescuing herself and her wayward Padawan, thanks very much, if he doesn't get in the way. Or himself, whatever. It's just that Anakin drops everything to rescue Obi-Wan and Obi-Wan's happy with waiting until the opportune moment to escape, and when he does, dayumn, there's gonna be hell to pay for those responsible, because there's basically nothing hotter than Obi-Wan kicking ass without his lightsaber (OBI-WAN KICKING PEOPLE IN THE FACE MY FAVORITEST THING EVER), sorry, I got distracted.)

...did I also write that scene in the lady Jedi fic? I think I did, but I suspect I didn't post it. Did I post the scene with lady!Anakin/lady!Obi-Wan aborted makeouts? Because I'm reasonably certain I wrote it. (Okay, yes, I wrote it, because Anakin Skywalker: the same in all universes. Except when he isn't, obvs.)
