trippy's a good word
Apr. 27th, 2012 09:07 pmSo I bought volume one of the Star Wars: Clone Wars microseries, because hey, it was $5 and why not. It's...trippy. Yeah, trippy's a good word. Light on plot, light on dialogue, heavy on action. I am convinced that half of it is propaganda cartoons made by the Republic during the Clone Wars, because that's the only way the Mace Windu episode makes sense. And it's very toony, which might be a good thing if you like that sort of thing, but it's not my thing. Here it is on YouTube, which I wish I'd known before buying it.
This is my favorite scene: OBI-WAN BEING A BADASS. (That's Durge. He's in the comics, too. He's...differently disturbing in the comics, where he steps on Obi-Wan's head a lot.) And if you're like, hmm, Obi-Wan's voice sounds familiar, that's because it's the same voice actor as in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series.
It does have Padme showing up and being very smart, though. Gotta love a stylish lady who travels with grenades and a gun.
