bedlamsbard: animals: a cougar standing on a tall rock (girlyb_icons) (a high place (girlyb_icons))
I am so sick of having weird health problems that are not quite bad enough I feel like I have to drag myself to the university health center. The latest thing is some bizarre thing going on with my tongue where it doesn't quite feel like it fits in my mouth, which is hella annoying. I AM SO SICK OF THIS. FOR LOVE OF GODS. CAN I JUST GO BACK TO BEING UNABLE TO OPEN MY MOUTH ALL THE WAY WHEN THAT WAS THE ONLY THING I HAD TO WORRY ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO? That was annoying, but way less annoying. (Other stuff: yesterday the left side of my jaw/throat was...I don't even know. Swollen? Sort of? Painful, anyway. Hands and wrists are acting up again. Still have jaw tension on the right side of my mouth, though at least I can open it all the way now, it just goes snap crackle pop every time. Canker sore in the usual spot (inside of my lower lip, right side). Not getting enough sleep. Cranky, irritable, probably not eating enough either. Anxiety, now riding at about a 9 on a 1-10 scale where I'm usually at a 6/7, heading into 8 this time of the year. Same old, same old.)

Hello, friends, I am so frustrated and annoyed with basically everything. (Except Star Wars! I AM IN LOVE WITH STAR WARS.)

Oh, and I think I might be actually getting sick on top of all the rest of my bizarre health problems, too.

Okay, reading meme now. I missed last week too, due to, uh, nervous breakdown reasons.

What I've just finished reading

Star Wars: X-Wing: The Krytos Trap, by Michael Stackpole, which sort of felt like filler and less MOVE IT MOVE IT than the previous two novels in the quartet. It also ran straight into the problem that turns up with EU books written prior to AotC's release (I can clarify why I say AotC and not TPM if anyone's really interested) that attempt to deal with the Late Republic Jedi Order, which is always very entertaining to read as someone who knows the Prequel Era inside and out, though this didn't make me stop dead the way Children of the Jedi did. (Boy, was that a trip, and not even for the "Luke bangs a ghost" part.)

Wheel of the Infinite, by Martha Wells, which is a reread.

The Rainbow Abyss, by Barbara Hambly. I've read a lot of Barbara Hambly, but this one was new.

Pocket Apocalypse, by Seanan McGuire, which came out yesterday and which I immediately devoured.

In audiobook, I finished The Element of Fire, by Martha Wells; it's a great audiobook and I really enjoyed it. (I love the book too; the main characters are great.)

In comics, Marvel's Darth Vader #2, which was fine; it didn't make me melt down the way DV #1 did.

What I'm currently reading

In ebook, The Cloud Roads by Martha Wells, which is a comfort reread, and I'm still working at Star Wars: Empire and Rebellion: Razor's Edge, also by Martha Wells, on my phone.

In hard copy, I've got Star Wars: X-Wing: The Bacta War by Michael Stackpole and Circle of the Moon by Barbara Hambly.

And for school I'm starting to do my research for my term paper, which means I've got Rome the Cosmopolis. which is an edited volume I read a couple years back for my diss.

In audiobook I'm (to deal with all my Star Wars Rebels feels) listening to Star Wars: A New Dawn, by John Jackson Miller.

What I'm reading next

Well, in comics, obviously Marvel's Princess Leia #1, which came out today.

I'm currently reading a bunch of books which are part of serieseseses, so probably whatever's next there.
