I am currently (a), waiting for my parents to arrive on campus, (b), waiting for my roommate to arrive, and (c), listening to the other freshman girls in J.L. move in.
My roommate is even more reserved than I am, and that's saying something. (And by reserved, I mean "doesn't want to go out", which I suppose may be a good thing on a college campus in New Orleans, of all places.)
It is sort of a good thing, and may cause her to be far less irritating, but my freshman year roommate was just like that and it took me some time to make other friends. She created, like, a comfort zone. I had to push myself to go out on my own.
We both sat at our computers with our headphones on for four hours and neither of us said a word until my clock suddenly imploded (not really; I just probably should have read the instructions before I plugged it in). And it's not like I really go out either, but I was sort of hoping for a roommate who would if only so I could have some time alone. Although she is out now. No idea where she went -- oh, wait, I think she's back.
At least I made friends during NOLA. That's good -- and they're all more extroverted than me. Although that's not hard.
