* This part of the Who's Who in The Arabian Nights program: "Her favorite experiences include...The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Aslan)." I...for some reason, this breaks my brain. Like, seriously, I read this before the play began, and then again during intermission, and last night when I got back to J.L., and again now, and for some reason it just keeps breaking my brain. I don't even know why.

* The realization that if you recast Dust with Peta instead of Peter -- using Petaverse background and assuming that post-"Be Like Water" she (and her siblings? WHO KNOWS) get pulled out of Narnia again -- then Peta's utterly and completely broken; she can't pull this shit off one more time.

* It is autumn, and yet it does not feel like autumn AT ALL. Oh, New Orleans.

* The fact that I miss high school. Not my friends so much -- I mean, yes, I do, of course, but that's not it -- but my high school itself, the ritual of it, the familiarity, the narrow hallways and the wide ceiling in the commons, the parking lot (oh, man, I miss driving), the late night football games, band -- oh, lord, do I miss band, and my band director, and my instrument. Yeah, I played tenor in high school, but bari's my instrument. I want my goddamn instrument, kids, I want an actual friggin' band. And -- I miss Ellensburg, I miss feeling...safe? I don't know. There have been three rapes on campus and just off campus lately, and an arrest, but...I don't know. It's weird. I'm not really sure I'm cut out for the city living thing, but living on campus isn't really like actually living in the city.
