I have the feeling that the scene reenacted at the end of Prince Caspian was pretty much, oh, their entire reign, Peter staring off into the distance going, "Dude, you are so in over your head," and Edmund going, "Man, I just don't want to know," and Lucy going, "Yes, but I am so much more interesting!"
My Peter has actually had seven disastrous almost-marriages (five, I think, at the point when this story takes place). The concept highly amuses me.
