Oh, a bank. Why haven't I put a bloody bank in Cair Paravel yet?

Well, okay. I would bet that the Calormenes would have seized whatever assets Tirian's family held in any bank (and would the royals even keep money in a bank?) anyway, which kind of makes the point moot.

(Still reading Macauley. Almost done, though.)

Also, there's the point that, with me, it's all riots and crime until something shinier and more scandalous comes along.

er. question. what do you want the bank for? Banks weren't set up to store your money, they were a place for traders to make loans (dates back to Roman times when moneylenders had stalls to make their loan business from, but the first actual one was Genoa in 1406, which would work for Dust) - storing money, minting and so on wasn't done by banks until quite late on.

I was under the impression that the royals just kept all their Shiny Things in that one vault in Cair Paravel.
