Still do not trust computer, but at least at the moment it is not doing anything absurd, aside from blocking programs on start-up, which I cannot figure out how to undo, and Resident Shield showing up when I boot up but not allowing me to do anything about what it picks up.

Naturally, I spent all last night dreaming about computers and viruses and computer viruses, which is probably a bad sign. I am leaning towards taking my computer into the shop anyway, because I do not trust it, and I'm not comfortable messing around with it on my own, and I really, really don't need the added level of stress that that brings. And I've only got two weeks before I got back to school, so, and then I'd have to deal with on my own, and...yeah, that went so well last time!

Also, I picked up a cooling pad at Costco yesterday, because among the other things that are wrong with my computer, I'm pretty sure the fan is broken. (Aside from whatever goes on inside the computer, my touchpad is also wonky; this is why I use a mouse.)

If Tulane can't fix it, there's a place in Hattiesburg that could do wonders for it. Really good folks, honestly.

Ha, I am under no illusions that Tech Services could fix it; my roommate had viruses all up in her computer freshman year, and Tech Services couldn't do anything for it.

Then it broke in two (literally...), but that wasn't the fault of the viruses. At least one hopes.
