Woke up to a boil water advisory for the entire East Bank. I JUST WANT TO DO THE DISHES OKAY.

(I just had the thought, hey, they did this all the time in the Middle Ages! BUT LOOK HOW THAT TURNED OUT.)

Yeah, cholera is an aspect of medieval life I would prefer not to experience firsthand. :(

And then I remember that I have washed dishes with nothing more than stream grit in running mountain streams! But that's a little different than soap and water from the Muddy Mississippi! Gah, in the PNW we don't get our water from rivers known as, I don't know, the Cruddy Columbia or something.

my tiny teapot is going to be working overtime today. remember to boil all water for at least five minutes so you don't get sick.

I am mostly distressed over not being able to do the dishes. The dishes! Our sink will fill up and be full of dirty dishes! However, I am very glad I have an electric kettle.

i did dishes last night and am very carefully not thinking about how they may not be clean. i will probably put them through the dishwasher tomorrow evening just to be safe.

Boil water and fill sink with it! Then let it cool a little, and do dishes!
