I always think of Narnia being legends upon legends upon reality. So much history! So many hints of what has past, and so little known -- so quite a lot to work with, thank you, Lewis. I think Narnia might have been able to give Peter a vague impression of the borders, but Underland goes much deeper than normal humans would ever be able to delve, so it's not something they'd necessarily be worried about.
*cough* It's the combo of Lucy having mellowed out and me having mellowed out -- if I'd written this a year ago, well, that scene probably wouldn't have been in here at all. I was a lot angrier then, and that bled through into the set-up for Dust. If I'd written this a year ago, there probably wouldn't have been any Aslan at all until the very end of the novel. But, you know, I've thought about it a bit more sense then.
