(no subject)
Jan. 20th, 2011 10:55 pmI am coming to the opinion that two things are certain in my life: (1) as soon as I decide that a professor might be helpful to me in regards to my honors thesis or grad school applications, they go on sabbatical (we're up to four now. Guys, Classics isn't a large department and MEMS isn't a large program, how the fuck is this my life) and (2) my roommates will decide to return from their mysterious absences and/or start making large amounts of noise as soon as I am about to begin something that would preferably be done in quiet and/or go to bed.
Oh, well, I suppose I can add a (3): I will have to do the dishes, even if my roommates start using the dishwasher. (I SWEAR TO GOD. The dishwasher was going, and I was washing the enormous pile of silverware in the sink. Gee, newsflash, guys: silverware can go in the dishwasher.)
The sabbatical thing is the most baffling, though. I don't have that many professors. How do all of them decide to go on sabbatical at the same time?
