bedlamsbardIn my head, Prince Rilian is like the most teenagery teenager that ever did teenage. He chases after mysterious women in the forest and then writes soppy love poetry about them. He follows them out in the woods and then has weird predatory sex. He practically gives Romeo a run for his money. (Well, aside from the weird predatory sex part. And the woods. Okay, maybe this is more Midsummer.)
RILIAN. RILIAN AND HIS PRE REALLY BIG PROBLEMS ISSUES. I LOFF THEM. (I have no idea why, this is so unlike me. Maybe it's just that it's so different than the other Narnia stuff I usually write. Not that I'm writing Rilian right now, I'm writing about social order and heresy and general nervousness in medieval Europe. I have vague thoughts on intercession as it relates to the various sects of Narnian religion in Dust. Also, it turns out that if you really want me to get interested in medieval religion, you have to tell me about dirty, dirty papal politics (we talked about the Borgias in my Age of Reformation class today! Now I have to go find a book about them). Roman politics, guys, I love them. Republican or imperial or papal. Where was I? Oh, Rilian.)
