bedlamsbardSo my family is fine, as far as we know. Phones are down, but my cousin in New York says texting is how she's communicating, and I think e-mail works as well, so that's how we know.
After some fairly dramatic hysteria (too much emotion in one day), I now have a new phone. It is red, and fancy, and I really didn't need a fancy phone, but I walked out of the store with one anyway. (It was also free, so.)
Texas went with me to the Verizon store the second time, and afterwards we went and got sushi, which was exactly what I needed -- tekkadon and miso soup and green tea, so much comfort food for me.
My boot camp professor got back to me, and the main thing to do is to get hold of my new committee and make sure they agree. I guess I'll e-mail the two profs I'm thinking of; one has office hours on Monday, so I'll see if I can go in then. I'm not sure if the other one's allowed to be a reader, since he's the dean of the honors program, but I'll ask anyway. Agh, I don't want to e-mail people, and I feel like I'm being flaky as all hell changing this late in the game. But I like the idea of my new topic.
