isurrendered has returned!
Apr. 22nd, 2011 12:31 pm1. Comment to this post with "I surrender!" and I'll assign you the basis of some TV show idea. (post-apocalyptic scifi-fi drama, fantasy, noir gumshoe pulp, criminal procedure...IN SPACE, historical drama WITH WEREWOLVES, etc.).
2. Create a cast of characters, including the actors who'd play them.
3. Add in any actor photos, character bios, and show synopsis that you want.
4. Post to your own journal.
whynot gave me "Time travelers from the future break their time machine in the past and are stranded." AND HERE WE GO.
VESUVIUS
Pompeii, 2032
Graduate student Emilia Sato is herding a group of undergrads around Pompeii as part of a summer program pioneered by her home university in the States: using cutting-edge technology, historians and archaeologists will be able to look back into the past, to see the world as it once was. It's not time-travel, but it's close. Only this time, something goes wrong. When the wreckage clears, Emilia finds herself lost in Pompeii, but instead of the strictly-ordered tourist trap she expects, she finds herself and her students in the Pompeii of AD 62, just after the earthquake that devastated her city. It should be a classicist's dream, but Emilia just wants to get all her students home, preferably in one piece.

Emilia Sato (Grace Park)
A belabored graduate student, on the edge of her PhD.

Melissa deVere (Alona Tal)
A pre-law undergrad, because Latin's useful for law school, right?

Jason Kristiansen (Thomas Dekker)
Writing his thesis on gladiators and hoping to go to graduate school.

Polly Arnaud (Zawe Ashton)
Wants to grow up to be Indiana Jones.

Benjamin Ryker (Zach Gilford)
A Renaissance Studies grad student. Too good to be true.

Lucius Ceius Secundus (Derek Jacobi)
A duumvir trying to get his city under control.

Marcus Ceius Maior (Ben Barnes)
His son, running for public office. A wild boy.

Quintus Ceius Marcellus (David Oakes)
His other son, even wilder.

Hippolyta (Zuleikha Robinson)
His mistress, a freedwoman. Highly suspicious.
ETA: I have to add the only line of dialogue I know from this, because I think it's more funny than it probably is.
QUINTUS: "Are they (the undergrads) your slaves?"
EMILIA: "Yeah, something like that."
ETA2: Obviously the tagline is "They just became history."
