I haven't even had time to sit and watch VDT yet even though I've gotten the DVD weeks ago. Like you, my issues with VDT are neverending. The soundtrack itself is pretty unmemorable except for the Harry Gregson-Williams based tracks and one or two of Arnold's compositions.
I think definitely something from the PC soundtrack would suit very nicely for Border Wars. If you can, you should check out the PC Complete Score/Recording Sessions (tracklist here) -- three hours worth of Gregson-Williams' music! It's definitely worth a listen.
