All of the above, and I've been on a gen kick for the past year or so, at least with Narnia. It's mostly subtext in Dust, but it's subtext that's almost textual, and I'd rather not have it all than have it that obvious. (I'm thinking less of the Cair Paravel chapters, where I think it's less sexual, and more of -- um, I don't remember the exact chapter right now, but the early Susan and Lucy chapters when they're still at Arn Abedin, where I think it's more gratuitous.) Anyway. *hands* It's not that I have a problem with the incest, because I don't, I just don't feel like it's necessary to the story and that in some cases it's actually taking away from it.
And while I'm here, I'll pause to note that that's one of the reasons I had Susan hook up with Corycia in Dust II. Although we got Peter/Susan subtext there, too. *shrugs* I don't know, really.
