Packing packing packing -- through a stroke of sheer genius (*eyeroll*) I managed to send off all my winter clothes already, so I am packing my last (or so) box, which is too big for what's going to go in it but all my other boxes are either too small or held together entirely by packing tape so now I'm going through my closet and my summer clothes going, "Okay, what can I send off as padding now that I won't need to wear immediately when I get there? Am I actually going to wear this if I bring it? My wardrobe is so not suited for life in Louisiana; well, won't need that winter coat. Do I need this wool pencil skirt? HA HA HA no, but I do want the hanger."

Anyway. I just survived a month in England off a single suitcase that had been packed for summer/spring weather where the climate turned out to be basically a Louisiana winter: I shall survive for a week if the majority of my clothing is padding in a box. Although it will be really irritating when my boxes arrive and it's my cool weather clothing first and my hot weather clothing last. (Especially since I probably won't actually be able to wear said cool weather clothing until, oh, December sometime. Louisiana, you freak of nature, you. I am seriously not temperamentally designed for living in the South. I need seasons, damn it!)

Also, sigh, I managed to box up and ship ALL MY SHEETS and if the FedEx tracking info is right, then they won't get there until Monday. I get there on Sunday. My mother had bought another sheet set that I was supposed to take with me, but only after we sent the box of linens did we notice that the new sheet set is 100% polyester (microfiber). I have fabric sensitivities -- I need at least a majority cotton. And one would think it would not actually be hard to find 100% cotton twin extra long sheets in a college town, but you would be surprised -- it's all either microfiber or jersey, and jersey really just doesn't seem like that great of quality for sheets. Anyway, I guess the plan at the moment is just to bring two flat twin or full sheets and make the bed with those. (Although it looks like my uni bookstore might have twin xl sheets, but I don't want to have to count on that; I already have to buy a pillow.)

...oh, I should pack my hiking boots, just in case.
