So I bought a teapot! Which came today. It is exactly what I wanted in a teapot, except for the fact that it arrived broken. *sighs* I am going to finish my abstract for Later Medieval Spain, since it's due in fifty forty-five minutes, and then I'll try and figure out how to contact Amazon customer service so that I can get a replacement.

(I also got a box from my mother today, which contained: "4 half pint jars and 2 small ones which are freezer safe, Frikake [sic], a chinese[sic] soup spoon, a pair of shoes and a letter from your friend. P.S. There is a jar of honey." In other words, ineptshieldmaid, I received your recipes! They went to my home address instead of my school one. Also, none of those jars broke, because apparently my mother is better at packing breakables than Amazon.)

I know, I looked at your school address and couldn't decide if it was still valid (there's a number in it! It might be a room number) and figured your mother would forward things.

Oh noes! Will they send you a new pot, with bonus unbroken-ness? (Also, the Internets tell me that there is a Teavana relatively near New Orleans...have you been? They are glorious! Also, they know how to package things for shipping, if you prefer to order online.)

Aha! I couldn't remember if you had my school address or my home address or both or what. The number is my mailbox number, BTW, which is the same every year.

Alas, they will give me a refund but not a replacement, since it was sold through Amazon but not by Amazon, I guess. *dramatic sigh* I shall have to buy another teapot on my own. Like, it was a really lovely looking teapot, so maybe I will just buy the same one and hope it's packaged better this time? Or maybe I shall go off Amazon, but then it will cost more and I shall have to pay shipping.

There's a Teavana in a mall in Metairie; I went a couple years ago, but last year they stopped running the mall shuttle and while they started again this year, I haven't had time yet. And I want a more traditional English-style teapot, while they tend towards either Asian-style traditional or modern-ish. *sighs*

<_< trufax, you may wish to consider a consignment store or somesuch. They often have very good and very cheap options. My prettiest teapots are junk store finds.

We also have a local, non-chain tea store in New Orleans proper that doesn't involve going out to the suburbs.

Hmm, I'm not sure if any of the consignment stores around here sell anything besides clothes, jewelry, and shoes -- I am limited by what is within walking distance, alas. I've gotten some great things from Goodwill back home, though.

Thanks! That sign looks so familiar that I swear I've walked past them before -- I think I've tended to concentrate on the psychic readings part of the sign and walked on by. I shall definitely check them out when I am next in the Quarter.
