I suspect that's some of it -- I feel like partially Susan's trying to make herself think that this is just another job to do, so there's no need to waste excess energy and emotion on attachments that will never go anywhere. And then there's Corycia, but Susan knew her already, so that doesn't really count.

I guess it'll take Aslan showing up and saying it one way or the other...
