Oh, gosh, I never considered that the butcher shop might be read as selling Talking beasts! They do not do that in Archenland, which has a nonhuman population of about the same percentage as Narnia and much better integrated, besides. (Trivia: the faun was originally a minotaur, and I believe at one point, a minoboar. I also considered making him a wer-wolf.)
