Still mildly reeling over the fact that I wrote 30K of Star Wars fic. (Slightly embarrassed over the fact that I wrote 30K of Star Wars fic right after dropping out of the Narnia Big Bang, but what can you do, right?)

I had the usual post-fic blues where I poked at my various WIPs in hopes that something would stick (the Obi-Wan and lady!Anakin one, the time-traveling lady Jedi one, the sequel to What is Lost, the one where Qui-Gon ends up in the midst of the Clone Wars (this one has Ahsoka in), the post-RotS one where Asajj Ventress and Obi-Wan team up, and, yes, the sequel to Dirt) before I settled on the lady!Obi-Wan backstory, which includes some of the lady!Obi-Wan/Padme. Which I feel duty-bound to tell you is, so far, made of lulz (at least for me).

The first time that Obi-Wan Kenobi had seen Padmé Amidala since she had left Theed with a new apprentice and the dubious honor of being the first Padawan in nearly a century to gain her Knighthood after the death of her Master and a trial in combat, she and Anakin had just returned from hunting down airship pirates on Derith Nahar. They had come straight from the transport hangar to the Council chamber, and afterwards all Obi-Wan wanted was the longest, hottest bath she could manage, preferably with her apprentice on the other side of a locked door from her. For all that Obi-Wan would cheerfully lay her life down for Anakin, sometimes she had to forcibly remind herself that smothering him in his sleep would probably be frowned upon by the Jedi Council. It had been raining on Coruscant when they arrived, so that they’d spent their debriefing slowly dripping puddles of water onto the floor of the Council chamber; Obi-Wan was uncomfortably aware that Anakin looked more like a drowned womprat than he did a Jedi apprentice, and was fairly certain that she didn’t look much better. Master Windu kept giving them pitying looks like he couldn’t remember why he had decided to knight her in the first place, even though her knighthood was some five years past.

They slunk out of the Council chamber as soon as they were dismissed, Obi-Wan trying discreetly to wring water out of her hair. They squelched their way back to her apartments, garnering pitying looks from passing Jedi and younglings and a flat-out guffaw from Quinlan Vos, who stopped mid-lecture to his Padawan to say, “Hey, Obi-Wan, there’s some politician looking for you.”

Obi-Wan managed to keep from saying out loud that the Supreme Chancellor could go hang, since Anakin actually liked the man for some reason, and instead inquired wearily, “Who? When?”

*muses* And a round-up of the others, I guess, so I can keep it straight:

the one where lady!Anakin and Obi-Wan are undercover on the Wheel looking for Quinlan Vos in the first months of the Clone Wars
“I don’t like this place, Master. I keep feeling like a joint is going to burst and vent us all into space.”

the one where lady!Anakin and lady!Obi-Wan accidentally end up in the future with Luke, Leia, and Han
"Remember the choices that this universe’s Anakin Skywalker made because he acted on his desires, rather than according to the Code."

the one where, post-RotS, Asajj Ventress runs into Obi-Wan on Tatooine
The last person that Asajj Ventress expects to find engaged in a drunken cantina brawl at the backend of the galaxy is Obi-Wan Kenobi.

the one where Qui-Gon wakes up in the middle of the Clone Wars
Qui-Gon puts his hand to his chest, where he distinctly remembers the Sith's lightsaber punching through flesh and bone and out the other side, but all he touches is unmarked skin beneath the hole in his tunic.

the sequel to What is Lost, the AU where Anakin didn't become Darth Vader
“Tell Palpatine,” he yelled, striking out with hands and feet, lightsaber and the Force, “that there are still Jedi on Coruscant! Tell him that Anakin Skywalker is coming for him!”

the sequel to Dirt in the Machine
Onboard the CIS battle cruiser INDEPENDENCE
Commanding: Jedi Generals Kit Fisto and Adi Gallia
1 day after Contingency Order 66

the prequel to Dust in the Air
“No,” he says, and turns his back on the man, wrapping one arm around Jewel’s neck as he walks away. “Kill him.”

dust 28 (I think I'm going to have to scrap this chapter, though)
“I do not think the King of Summer or his kin will let any harm come to me, while I am working under his aegis.”

the one where Rilian presides over divorce court Narnia
“Narnian law is Narnian law, you fool. Or have you forgotten you live in Narnia, Telmarine?”

the one where the Dollhouse is Cylon technology
He wakes up with his hands on his sidearm, the sound of a gunshot ringing in his ears, and realizes he’s put a bullet through the blinking red light on his alarm clock.

the one where the Cylons have been evolving without even realizing it
“I’ve just decided. I’m not human. I don’t really enjoy the idea of being the only one of me in the universe.”

the one with the Agathon family reunion
In lieu of support from either his wife or his ex-wife, Helo slinks off to find Kara.

the one where Helo and Cally commiserate over their shared crushes
“You and Starbuck, you ought to start a club. She called Anders a second-rate hack from a third-rate team that had seen better days.”

Okay, so, as usual, I'm never allowed to complain that I don't have anything to write.

ETA: Accidentally hit "post" before I was done with the entry.

So much win. The Narnian divorce court thing is very thought-making, and the Qui-Gon one is just Eeee! and the genderflip anything is pure love. (I er, really really love well done genderflip, as you may have noticed.)
