bedlamsbardBack to working on my grad applications since, hey, I am graduating really freaking soon and I kind of need to know what I'm doing next year. At this point I at least have a complete draft of my personal statement; I'm legitimately worried that if I wait any longer then I won't end up applying at all, so whatever, it's going. (I'd rather get it in than not.) Except then I ran into the spot on the app where I needed my passport info, which I don't have at present and I can't call home until this evening because of the time difference.
This raises the question of whether I should put a prof who knows me better as a reference or a classics prof (for a classics program). *hesitating*
Meanwhile I am working on Chapter 2 of Bad Moon Rising (which is actually the second SW story I've given that title; the other one is an old UFO) and trying to figure out what I'm doing with it. Yesterday I went to the New Orleans Roadfood Festival, which was yummy but sort of...overwhelming, since I ended up by myself due to a series of...miscommunications, I guess. (My part, my roommates' part, whatever. I'm still mildly pissed that no one stopped to say, "Hey, Bed, we're leaving," when they left. Is that too much to ask?) At least I finally accomplished my goal of going to the French Quarter by myself and I got to wander into all the shops I wanted by myself. (Except is the Quarter Stitch not there any more? At least I didn't spend any money on yarn, I guess.) And I acquired pralines! So nom. I ended up totally wiped afterwwards and sort of gave up on homework in order to collapse into bed.
I know I'm edging back up into higher stress levels (I've got a 15 page paper due next week that I haven't started) because I'm starting to rip my lips to shreds again. Not good!
