My computer is definitely dying the death of a thousand cuts. Just hold on another month, baby, please: just because I can buy another computer doesn't mean I want to deal with switching everything over (painstakingly, manually, because I don't know if there's a way to do it fast) in the middle of finals. Ugh, I hate this. At least I'm backed up, though.

*pokes computer* (I am on said computer right now, it's just going non-responsive and having to be shut down and restarted and disk-checked at odd intervals since yesterday. I guess I could try another system restore. This is, by the way, the only trick I have up my sleeve.)

For some reason I now want to write all casefic (or missionfic, I guess) all the time. Oh, my plotty gen brain, with bonus UST. (JUST MAKE OUT, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU. One of my OTP-iest of OTPs and I cannot get them to make out, what the hell is wrong with me.

Three suggestions for you to add to your bag o' tricks:

1. Try getting as many files and programs off the computer as is possible. I've nursed several devices successfully using that trick. 2. Your computer might also be overheating (or thinking it is overheating), so if you can keep it cool that helps. 3. And I've found that not leaving it running helps in these situations, because the shut down and restart can wipe out buggy scripts that have misfired and are borking up the session, and also because the overheating often is from just being turned on, so turning it off helps.
