bedlamsbardThings that I would like to see in Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 5:
1. Darth Maul coming back! And trying to destroy Obi-Wan by going after everyone Obi-Wan cares about, primarily Anakin. We've seen Anakin doing some pretty drastic things when the people he loves are in danger; we've seen Padme and Ahsoka pull some wild stunts; we haven't yet seen Obi-Wan really start to lose it, and Maul is probably the only person who can get him to do that. And I get the feeling that Maul would go after Obi-Wan's former apprentice for some symmetry: Obi-Wan watched his master die at Maul's hands, Obi-Wan can watch his apprentice die at Maul's hands.
2. Obi-Wan and Padme working together. I have been racking my brain, and I can't think of a single episode in four seasons that focuses on Obi-Wan and Padme specifically. They're both really great characters, I think it would be a great pair-up. Plus, then you get the tension of them speaking to each other and trying to figure out if Obi-Wan knows about Anakin and Padme. (He totally knows.)
3. Ladies! Aayla Secura, Shaak Ti, Luminara Unduli, Barriss Offee, Adi Gallia: let's see them all come back. It is probably too much to ask for an episode that's all ladies all the time (with Ahsoka, of course!), but let's see all of them interact with each other while the boys are off doing something else. (I also love the politician ladies; it would be very cool to see Mon Mothma step forward, since she's a legacy character from the OT. AND MORE RIYO CHUCHI, I LOVE HER.)
4. Time travel. Because I love me some time travel, and it's certainly wacky enough for a show that's had two different kinds of zombies. Let's have Liam Neeson back and see Qui-Gon and young Obi-Wan! Or let's see the future and have Luke, Leia, and Han show up! I could also see them going way back to the beginning of the Jedi Order thousands of years before: WACKY HIJINKS ENSUE. Or the plotline that's been rumored for Star Wars: Underworld, where rebels come back in time to kill Darth Vader. Let's have them overshoot and end up in the Clone Wars!
5. A traitor in the Jedi Temple, and all the Jedi trying to figure out who it is, preferably with Obi-Wan being the leading suspect. Stuff in the Jedi Temple is always fun, plus we can have a bunch of returning Jedi characters interacting with each other and the Jedi going after each other. And I'm always surprised that no one has ever flat-out accused Obi-Wan: his master's master is the leader of the Confederacy, he was there when Qui-Gon died and when the Sith reappeared, he was there when the war started (in fact, one could argue that he...sort of...started the war...since all the Jedi died coming to get him), and Dooku's obsessed with him.
6. Also I would really like to see a young Han Solo in a cameo. (And am surprised that they haven't done so already, since we've gotten Chewie.) Or some more legacy stuff: the Millennium Falcon, Mon Mothma being more proactive, maybe a return to the Lars farm.
7. Anakin and Ahsoka being confronted with other Jedi who are pushing the boundaries of the Jedi Code -- Jedi in love with each other (two Padawans? a Padawan and their Master) or a Jedi and a clone having an affair. (I really want a Jedi and a clone having an affair.)
8. On a similar note, the Jedi who have exercised their right of denial and refused to become generals. (Hell, bring in Master Zao from the EU: the guy is a blind Jedi who wanders around making a soup that tells you if you're in harmony with the Force or not. It's just wacky enough to pass.) Part of Ahsoka's identity is constructed around being a warrior: how does she react when confronted with Jedi who chose not to engage with the war?
9. Real self-sacrifice. The show plays around with it, but so far it's been unwilling to commit to it because, well, it is on the Cartoon Network and no one wants to see the main character sacrifice herself for an ultimately doomed war. Let's see the toll that this war is taking on the Jedi. (Basically I would like to see the SW:TCW equivalent of "Last Stand at Jabiim" or "Forever Young" in the comics.)
10. Anakin having to interact with people from his past: his old friends Kitster or Greedo, or pod-racing against Sebulba again.
