I've toyed with the idea of writing chapters out of order and the nearest I've gotten to that have been with scenes and long conversations that were the basis of why I wanted to write a story. I don't think I've gotten to writing whole chapters like you but hey, it's always best to write things down when inspiration hits (especially during long writing blocks).
Besides, your future chapters may appear out of order for now but then turn out to actually work. :-)
And that Edmund/Elizar scene is such a tease! But in a good way... at least the two of them are still alive in the castle. And it sounds like the spirits that appeared in The Bone's Prayer might show up again, which would be kind of awesome. Too bad they can't come and help Edmund scare away the Calormenes and their associates on the island.
