so, 2017

I keep thinking I should do some sort of roundup post about it – aside from my annual “books I read” post which I’ll do in a day or two – but that means I actually have to think about 2017, which I’ve been doing the past few days and working myself into a circle of hysteria about, because 2017 was a demon nightmare of a year on almost every level. I started the year off by having a nervous breakdown, which, honestly, I’m still not entirely sure I’m past.

So here are some good things that happened:

I got into several PhD programs, including my first choice school
I met my favorite Star Wars author at SWCO
I did a lot of concept writing
I commissioned some beautiful art
I moved cross-country and started my PhD
I went to two conventions (SWCO and Dragon Con)
I made new friends
I ate some really good food
I started knitting again after four years

Hopefully there will be less crying in 2018.
